10/20/17 – On October 19th, Reid Petroleum in partnership with TANY ( Trucking Association of New York) took part in a Safety Break “No Zone” Demonstration. This took place at the Clarence Travel plaza on interstate 90. The purpose of this was to educate the public on the “ No Zones” – – or, where not to drive around a tractor trailer. Vehicles were placed in blind spots and those who stopped were permitted to sit in the truck to show them that the truck driver cannot see them in the blind spots. This was well perceived by the public and very well appreciated by all the truck drivers that saw us there as well. This was a team effort from TANY Western region, NY State thruway authority and NYS Police. All were on hand to help educate the motorists on the road. This was part of the “Share the Road” campaign that is ongoing with TANY and its members throughout the State.
